Become a Patient Experience Champion and Build the Patient Experience Community

As a Patient Experience Champion, you can help grow The Beryl Institute's community by referring your colleagues to become members of the Institute. By doing so, not only will you make a statement about your commitment to expanding the global dialogue on improving patient experience, but you will also make a difference by...

  • Growing the community of practice on improving the patient experience
  • Sharing the voices, views and perspectives on improving the patient experience
  • Creating a dynamic space to engage and contribute 

Tell us who you recruited by completing the recruiter form with your name and the name of the potential member. Your colleagues can also join online or join over the phone by contacting The Beryl Institute at 866.488.2379. When they join online, don't forget to encourage your colleagues to enter your name in the “Referred by” field to ensure you receive credit for your referral.

Incentives

For your efforts, The Beryl Institute will reward you. When your colleagues join as a result of your encouragement, you will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card. In addition, you will be entered into a drawing for a complimentary registration to the 2019 Patient Experience Conference. To increase your rewards, simply increase your recruitment efforts.

A growing patient experience community means greater recognition for the patient experience profession, more resources and support for members and an opportunity to engage with patient experience professionals across the continuum of care. The resources and tips below are here to help support you in your recruitment efforts.

Recruitment Tips

  • Identify the best prospects. Review your network of professional colleagues and identify who would benefit from the membership resources and benefits.
  • Share with them why you became a member and provide examples of how the membership has benefited you. A positive testimonial can be one of the strongest tools when recruiting new members.
  • Focus on their needs. Ask questions about their patient experience improvement efforts, and based on their answers, highlight the benefits of greatest value. This makes the conversation feel more like colleagues sharing solutions and less like a sales pitch.
  • Close with a plan of action. Offer to email them instructions for joining online. Be sure they have your name so they can include it on the membership application.
  • Follow up. Touch base in a few weeks to see if they joined or have any questions. If they haven't joined, this follow-up can serve as a gentle reminder. And if they have, it's a nice opportunity to welcome them to The Beryl Institute.
  • Take the time to say thank you. Send them a short message thanking them for considering membership with The Beryl Institute and supporting the patient experience community.
