In her role, Becky focuses on all things patient and family centered care (PFCC) and the patient experience. This includes connecting with their team on all facets of patient experience and managing their patient experience survey tools. She counts herself very lucky to partner with their Patient and Family Advisors, as they add so much to the organization. With PFCC and patient experience, her organization focuses on partnership, setting actionable goals and implementing them.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT IN YOUR ROLE?
My most significant accomplishment in my role has been launching our Patient and Family Advisor Program. We are elevating our practice from obtaining feedback to true engagement and partnership. It’s an honor and a privilege to work with our Advisors and engage them all throughout the organization, including on Hospital Acquired Condition committees, on our e-Council, 8 Family Advisory Boards, Board Committees and more.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU ARE CURRENTLY FACING?
Just taking things one day at a time. There is always a lot of exciting things going on, lots to celebrate and opportunities to learn and grow from. We are continuing to expand our reach and have just opened a new, pediatric hospital: Arkansas Children’s Northwest. I want to be available to all of our locations and areas so they receive the support they are looking for.
WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THE FUTURE OF PATIENT EXPERIENCE?
We will continue to be champions for children! I think this includes putting our mission, vision and core values into action. We will continue to respond to the needs of our patients and families in new and innovative ways. This includes leveraging evidenced-based practice, but also technology and innovation.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN WHEN NOT WORKING?
When not focusing on patient experience, I love spending time with my family, reading, being outside, going to the lake and watching sports.
WHY ARE YOU A MEMBER OF THE BERYL INSTITUTE?
I’m a member of The Beryl Institute to connect and network about all things patient experience! I get so many good ideas from others, from white papers, webinars and more
