President, North America
Oneview Healthcare Inc.
In his role, Jeff leads the North American organization for Oneview Healthcare, a global software leader in patient and clinician engagement. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Oneview serves hospitals on four continents from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai, San Francisco, Atlanta and their North American headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT IN YOUR ROLE?Building Oneview’s first North American team from 2 people in late 2014 to 16 today has been exhilarating. I must say that enlisting this incredibly talented group of uniquely qualified and accomplished professionals in the Oneview mission is my most significant accomplishment here so far. Together with terrific strategic partners in Microsoft, Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard, the team has really captured the attention of hospitals. Through them our uniquely open and mobile platform is making a daily difference in the lives of patients and care-givers through inpatient and ambulatory solutions that enhance patient satisfaction, clinical quality and efficiency. Judging by the very warm reception from those we met at The Beryl Institute annual conference and Regional Roundtables 2015 and beyond promises to bring many exciting new accomplishments achieved together with new friends!
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU ARE CURRENTLY FACING?We’re challenged by the natural push-pull of the many priorities that a fast-growing HIT company faces. That is, scale the company appropriately to reach the many hospitals who urgently need solutions that truly make a difference while staying true to the mission and culture that got us here. And to continually but thoughtfully stretch the capabilities of our solution so that patients and care-givers can better navigate health challenges together.
WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THE FUTURE OF PATIENT EXPERIENCE?Helping patients take an active role in their own care and enabling caregivers to overcome the many challenges they face has never been more important. Providers face a perfect storm where they are expected to deliver higher quality, more satisfying care for more patients than ever. Because of politics, demographics and economics, the storm isn’t going to let up any time soon. In my view, there is no lever more powerful in meeting this challenge than patient engagement and this mission has never been more important.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN WHEN NOT WORKING?I really hit the lottery when I married Beth 27 years ago. We love the outdoors, concerts (from Sting to Foo Fighters), water sports and making wine. Playing the guitar has been a passion since I was a kid too.
WHY DID YOU JOIN THE BERYL INSTITUTE?The Beryl Institute is a magnet for the best ideas in patient experience. A terrific organization where people who care deeply about this work gain new ideas and pressure-test their own with others who are on the same failure-is-not-an-option mission. I’m excited about what’s ahead for all of us who are fortunate to be members of the Beryl Institute.
