Director of Facility Management
Rick chairs the Noise Reduction Committee and serves on the Service Excellence and Aidet Committees at Memorial Hospital. He oversees the department functioning of the Plant Operations, Energy Center, Electrical, Electronics, Maintenance, Painting, and Grounds and also creates and executes all capital infrastructure projects. Rick serves as the hospital liaison to utility providers, fire department and other code officials.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT IN YOUR ROLE?
I have implemented a number of physical changes to improve patient satisfaction regarding noise levels in and around patient rooms.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU ARE CURRENTLY FACING?
One of the biggest challenges we face is encouraging staff to keep noise control a priority.
WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THE FUTURE OF PATIENT EXPERIENCE?
Reinforcing staff education on the importance of silence and its impact upon healing will be a priority in improving the patient experience.

I joined The Beryl Institute to learn new and creative ways to improve patient satisfaction.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN WHEN NOT WORKING?
I enjoy boating and riding my motorcycle.
