The Beryl Institute’s Patient Experience Virtual Conference Series provides for a day of focused learning and discussion on a specific patient experience topic. Each virtual conference offers four unique learning sessions sharing strategies, best practices and solutions to support your patient experience efforts. The benefits are similar to attending a professional development conference without the expense of travel or time away from the office.

Most Virtual Conferences offered by The Beryl Institute are eligible for four Patient Experience Continuing Education Credit (PXEs) pending approval.

 



Virtual Conference Archive

Physician Engagement
Learn proven practices created to enhance patient relationships, improve team functioning and dynamics, and reduce malpractice risk for physician groups. Presenters explain how having critical conversations with physicians and creating teamwork-centered environments improves the patient experience.

Communication
During this virtual conference, participants will hear about patient and family centered communication success stories, which they may utilize in their own organizations to improve satisfaction scores. Presenters explore cost-effective processes implemented leading to successful outcomes, as well as challenges and lessons learned along the way.

Patient Voice
The goal of these presentations is to inspire the audience to connect with real patients and family members using vignettes that inform and motivate the listeners to change systems and alter behavior. Participants will also learn about interviewing skills, empathetic responding, and effective methods of educating patients.
 

Patient Advocacy
During this virtual conference, participants will hear from four experts in the field about the importance of advocating for your patient to ensure an outstanding patient experience. Presenters will define the role of Patient Advocates, share best practices in complaint management, discuss how to manage patient grievances and explore how to practice with kindness.


Technology and Social Media in Healthcare
The healthcare industry is evolving, thanks in part to technological advancements. During this virtual conference, participants will hear how technology is being leveraged to enhance the patient and care giver experience. Presenters will share the integration of technology and a variety of platforms being used to enhance communication, provide greater peer-to-peer support and improve patient education and care coordination.

Diversity and Cultural Competence
The importance of cultural competence is widely recognized as a critical and integral part in providing a high quality, compassionate healthcare experience. As the diversity of the population increases, so does its cultural complexity of patient populations from different racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, religious and cultural backgrounds. During this Virtual Conference, the presenters will explore strategies and tools implemented to enhance communication, ensure effective hospital-based language access programs and learn ways to manage and bridge the disparities between the practitioners' and patients' approach to health, illness and healthcare.
